Walk with Me
I’ve been working at the same major commercial real estate company since I left uni. I’ve had a few different roles so far which has kept it interesting, and I’ve got no complaints about my salary. You’ve gotta put in the hours but hey, as long as the cash keeps rolling in that’s cool. The office is in town so I take the bus to work, and use cabs for getting around at night.
Keeping fit is important to me: I’ve got a personal trainer, I work out, and I swim two mornings a week. You know what they say, healthy body, healthy mind. I’m training for the Nissan/BRW Triathlon at the moment, hoping to improve on my time from last year. My dad represented Chile in cross-country running at the Olympics back in the day, so he’s a tough act to follow.
I rent an apartment in Coogee. It’s a small, refurbished block; a real find. My housemate and I love entertaining there — girls are always impressed by how close the beach is. Mind you, I’ve been going out so much lately, I’m hardly home. This weekend I’ve got tickets to a play, I’ve gotta fit in a 10km run, plus I’m having a few friends over for lunch on Sunday — then I’m off to Tokyo the following week. I upgraded to business-class using my Frequent Flyer points — life’s too short to slum it! But I offset my carbon emissions too — every little bit counts.
